Privacy Policy
Sidestep is a neighborhood utility app that shows whether a nearby stadium event will affect your day. Your privacy is simple because Sidestep is simple.
What Sidestep does not collect
Sidestep does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:
- No account creation or sign-in
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No location data
- No advertising or ad identifiers
- No cookies or web tracking
- No data shared with third parties
What Sidestep does
Sidestep makes network requests to the MLB Stats API
(statsapi.mlb.com) to fetch publicly available game
schedule data. These requests contain no personal information —
only a date and a team identifier.
Data stored on your device
Sidestep saves your selected neighborhood preference to your device using local storage (UserDefaults). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.
Third-party services
Sidestep uses only one external service:
- MLB Stats API — public baseball schedule data. No API key or authentication is used. MLB’s own privacy policy applies to their service.
Children’s privacy
Sidestep does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If Sidestep ever adds features that affect privacy (such as notifications or analytics), this policy will be updated before those features launch.
